# Create Credentials

To use the **Mobile Calendar API v1**, you must first generate an API account and credentials in the main application.

***

## Steps to Create an API Account

1. **Log in** to your main account at [app.mobile-calendar.com](https://app.mobile-calendar.com).
2. Navigate to **Integrations > REST API**.
3. Click **Add API Account**.
4. Provide the required details:
 * **Account name** – informational label for your reference.
 * **Access scopes** – select which parts of the API this account can access.
 * **IP restrictions** – optionally restrict API requests to a specific IP or range.
 * **Expiration date** – optionally set an expiry date, after which the account becomes inactive.
5. After saving, a **login key** will be generated.

***

## Important Security Notice

{% hint style="warning" %}
**The password is displayed only once – at the time of creation.**\
You must copy and securely store it immediately.\
Once closed, the password cannot be retrieved again.\
If lost, you will need to generate a new API account.
{% endhint %}

***

With these credentials (clientId and clientSecret), you can authenticate and obtain a **JWT token** via the `/auth/token` endpoint to access the API.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://mobile-calendar.gitbook.io/v1/overview/create-credentials.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
